Aaron burr put a hit out on Meriwether Lewis so he could have info to different tribes which Lewis held onto after their expedition. He needed this info because he was looking to purchase the Louisiana territory which we later purchased from Napoleon . Cause of death in the infobox is "gunshot wounds". The Death section summarizes the debate over suicide or murder. I've never seen a reliable source allege that Burr had anything to do with it. Schazjmd(talk)23:28, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
